Software Architecture & Prototyping

Software architecture and prototyping settles technical feasibility, system architecture and an interactive prototype before development begins. VenusSoft draws on reference architecture patterns proven in its own products at this stage, aiming to get the foundation right the first time rather than the second.

Why architecture comes before development

Some teams start writing code straight away and discover six months in that the architecture they picked cannot carry the product’s growth; by then, the cost of turning back is steep. Once that foundation is proven, custom software development can begin against a controlled roadmap.

Explaining an idea to an investor or a decision-maker sometimes needs a clickable prototype, and all that exists is a slide deck. To test the user side of the flow, UX/UI design adds behavioural evidence to the prototype.

Sometimes, in an existing system, nobody can explain clearly how the architecture actually works, and every change feels like touching a black box.

How the process works

  1. Feasibility and requirements audit

    1 week

Business goals, technical constraints and expected scale are clarified; feasibility is assessed. If the decision affects the wider technology investment, IT and digital transformation consulting connects feasibility to an organisational roadmap.

  2. Architecture design and technology selection

    1-2 weeks

Data model, system boundaries and technology choices are set with long-term maintenance cost as a factor.

  3. Interactive prototype

    1-2 weeks

Critical flows become a clickable prototype, testable in front of decision-makers. SmartQflow is a concrete example of this path from prototype to a working field product.

  4. Validation and review

    3-5 days

The prototype and architecture decisions are reviewed with stakeholders, and revisions are made.

  5. Documentation and roadmap

    3-5 days

Architecture decisions, constraints and a recommended build order are delivered in writing.

€4,500Project starting price

VenusSoft does not sell fixed packages: every project is built as custom software, and because we bring our own product components into each one, scope varies from project to project. The figure here is the floor a project in this service typically starts at; the exact quote follows scope, after a discovery call. These euro figures are set for the European nearshore market this page addresses, independently of any Turkish-lira pricing shown elsewhere on this site.

These figures are starting thresholds valid as of 5 August 2026; current pricing is confirmed in your quote.

What moves this number

  • Scope

The floor assumes the smallest useful version in which a single flow works end to end. Every further screen, user role and rule-bearing flow grows the design, build and test load together.

  • Integrations

Connecting to a documented API and extracting data from a system that has been running for years are not the same job. This is the line that deviates most from an estimate, and the first one discovery pins down.

  • Timeline

The same work does not cost the same on an ordinary schedule as it does compressed across a parallel team. Compression is not always possible either, and where it is, the cost lands on team size rather than on the calendar.

  • Continuity

Going live is a handover, not an ending. Maintenance, monitoring, support and the next release are agreed up front; they are not folded into the project figure but stand as their own open line.

What we use, and why

  • Figma / interactive prototyping

Lets you see and test whether a flow actually works before a line of production code is written.

  • C4 model diagrams

Documents architecture clearly at multiple levels of abstraction: system, container, component.

  • Cloud architecture patterns (AWS/Azure/GCP)

Grounds design in provider-agnostic patterns already proven for scale and cost.

Frequently asked questions

What is software architecture work for?

It puts in writing how the system will be built, how the parts connect and where the risk sits, before development starts. The cost of a wrong foundation grows with everything built on top of it, and this stage exists to make that decision while it is still cheap.

What if the feasibility work concludes the project should not be built?

That is a legitimate outcome, and you get it in writing with the reasoning behind it. Learning in a few weeks why an idea will not work is far cheaper than learning it at the end of a months-long build. That is what the feasibility phase is for.

Do you also build the product after the prototype phase?

We can continue into development, or you can hand the documentation to another team; the service does not lock in that decision up front.

How long does it take and what does it cost?

The durations above are our proposal for a mid-sized system. The starting price above is the floor a project like this begins at; the exact quote is set once scope is clear from a discovery call.

Is the prototype tested with real users?

When needed, yes; usability testing for critical flows can be included in scope, run alongside our UX/UI Design service.
